2002 Pickem Results

The Champion
12/31/2002 8:50:30 AM

Congratulations are in order for Browns1950, as he took home the first annual Pick 'Em championship with his impressive week 17 display.

Blue, Dunedindawg, and our very own Roger Gordon all made late pushes to get the top spot, but Browns1950 was almost perfect in the final week of picks, and ended up winning by a landslide.

For all of you pickers out there, please note that we will not be picking the playoff games for the contest, due to the limitations of our software (and the screwy NFL Post-season schedule!!) this year, despite the unanimous vote to push foreward.

With that said, it's that time that you've all been waiting for....PRIZES!! Yes, we will be handing out the prizes like we said.  Browns1950 will be getting the Pick 'Em champion tee-shirt and a permanent spot on our site, along with an autographed copy of Roger Gordon's brand-new book, Cleveland Browns:  A to Z

Other prizes being awarded are as follows:
VHS - First Monday Night game ever - Cle/NYJ, 1970
Book - McMahon! - Jim McMahon Autobiography
Book - Cincinnati Bengals Facts and Trivia
VHS - Oak/Cle divisional playoff, 1981 ("mistake on the lake")
Custom Made Angel from Angels by Elaine
VHS - 50 Years (NFL Films)
VHS - Generations (Pro football families, NFL Films)
Card - 1999 Walter Payton Rookie Replica - Gold Stamped
Card(s) - Bo Jackson collector's pack (features 10+ Jackson cards)

Now, the only thing left to decide is who gets what.  Just about everyone will get SOMETHING.  Wolverine Champ will get first crack at the prize barrel, in honor of going 14 out of 14 in a week early on.

If you won a week, we're gonna put your name in a hat, and we'll draw one from that pile.  That person will have next dibbs.  Next, we'll let our 2nd and 3rd place guys grab a goodie (of those eligible).

After that, we'll throw everyone else's name in a hat, and keep pickin' until there aren't any more names left.  That way, everyone gets something.

Of course, our top lady picker gets her angel, and we will also hand out our "red lantern" trophy as well.

Prize Grabbin' order will be determined this week, then we'll start contacting you, so you can tell us which prize you want, and a good address we can ship it to.

The only order of business left to discuss is that of the final pickem standings.  Below, you'll find the complete standings for everyone who played at least one week.

Thanks for a great pickem year everyone!!! I hope you all come back to play next year.  Good luck in 2003, and watch for my email!

Frank
