2005 Pickem

The NFL History Network's 2005 Pickem Challenge is here!

Sign up to play Pickem 2005 here!

Thanks for your interest in the Third Annual NFL History Network Pickem Challenge.  As always, it's free to sign up and play.

General Pickem Rules:
1.  We will be picking winners of NFL games each week.
2.  We'll be picking winners straight up.  No point spreads are used.
3.  This is a non-gambling league.  We're just playing for fun (and prizes).
(note:  a grand prize and other prizes will be awarded by Frank Henkel, but no money is necessary to participate)

How to Play:
1.  Playing the Pickem is very easy!!
2.  First, just fill out the form below with your email address, desired user name, and password.
(note:  Your email will not be shared with anyone!)
3.  You will get a confirmation email and a link to the Pickem program.  Sign in using the username and password specified in the email.  Once you log in, the first thing you will see is the deadline for week one (Sept. 9th).  Picks must be in by the deadline, or you get a zero!!!  You can click on the "help" link to get the complete rules.  You can click on the "Entry Form" link to make your picks for the week.  The software keeps a cumulative score of all picks throughout the year, and weekly winners.  Weekly winners will be recognized on The NFL History Network for that week.  The overall winner will be awarded a valuable prize by Frank D. Mann, and will be labeled "Football King" on (mostly) every page on the site.  The Football King will remain on the site until the completion of the 2004 season.

4.  Please note, you can join late, and don't have to play every week.   However, this year's pool is sorted by wins, not winning percentage, so keep in mind that taking a week off can hurt you in the end!!

Prizes:
1.  At the end of the year, you will be assigned a Prize Number.  This number is your order in line to claim prizes.  If you have number 21, then 20 people have a chance to select a prize before you.  The person with prize number 1 gets first pick of all prizes listed on the prize page.  That person will have one week (7 days) to contact Frank in order to claim his/her prize.  If he/she doesn't claim a prize, then the person with Prize Number 2 gets their pick.  We will go down the line until the last prize is gone.

2.  Prize numbers will be given in this order:

 - 1-3 will be given to the overall champion and the 2 overall runner-ups
 - 4 will be given to the person who racks up the most weekly championships OR anyone who picks a perfect week
 - 5 will be given to the playoff champion
 - 6 through the rest will be assigned in order of the standings (sorted by wins).
 - Last place (fewest wins while picking all 17 weeks) will be awarded the "red lantern" trophy

Everyone will be given a prize number.  If you have your eye on the Detroit Lions gift pack, you can pretty much rest assured that if you're the top Lions fan, you'll probably get it, even if your prize number is 300.  Keep in mind that you don't have to select a prize, and that some prizes still require special memberships (i.e.- the NFL-Fans message board prizes).

3.  All prizes which are not divvyed out this year will be up for grabs next year after the 2006 Pickem contest.
